Genuine ex-James Hunt Helmet SOLD

I must admit, I was exceptionally sad to see this wonderful and rare piece go. Well, at least it’s gone to a good home... *sigh
This was a very original and limited-edition item of apparel – even by stringent Junk Male standards. It probably still contains a healthy dose of James Hunt DNA (which was included free).
Some background history: This was a genuine ex-James Hunt crash helmet from 1975, worn by the former Formula 1 World Champion himself. It was never used in anger – during a race, but was utilised only in safe circumstances: Promotional activity and marketing for the Texaco Petroleum Company (in particular, it was prepared for the legendary TV advertisements, featuring Morecambe & Wise as James Hunt’s shambolic yet endearing ‘pit crew’). The promotional activity at which James wore this helmet – and used it as a filming prop – mainly occurred from 1977 onwards.
Even though the helmet has sold, you can still read the Junk Male James Hunt Blogs (for free!) here:
